Love Takes a Turn on Legacy Lane
After proposing with a personalized brick on Legacy Lane on the campus where they fell in love, Siqi Fang MS’14 and Chunyan Tang MS’15 were married last November.
The couple met in Shanghai in 2011, shortly before Fang came to UT Dallas to study information technology and management. Tang arrived at the University in 2014 with plans to pursue a degree in supply chain management.
“At that time, we fell in love,” Fang said.

But, soon after Tang’s graduation, the couple faced a difficult decision. She received a job offer from Apple in China. Fang was already working at a Dallas information technology company, yet he wanted Tang to “follow her heart” and pursue her career. The decision meant the beginning of a long-distance relationship.
“The long distance kept torturing us,” he said. “So I made my proposal in September of 2016, and we had the wedding in November.”
In March, Fang said that the two purchased a new house in Plano, just up the road from where their love originally blossomed.
