Student Ambassadors

Who We Are

UT Dallas Student Ambassadors are a diverse cohort of student leaders who advance the University by serving as representatives to external constituents, including but not limited to alumni, donors, faculty, staff and community members. The Ambassadors assist in programming that supports education, engagement, giving and stewardship. The Student Ambassadors are housed in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations and work directly with the UT Dallas Alumni team.

What We Do

Oozeball, a UT Dallas tradition.

Oozeball

Host an annual mud volleyball tournament to raise funds for the UTD First-Generation Student Programs, UTD Student Emergency Fund and other various causes on campus.

Thanks Day, a day to express gratitude to our supporters.

Comets Giving Days, a day for Comets to give back to the UT Dallas community.

Give back to the many impactful departments, programs, scholarships, and organizations at UT Dallas to promote growth and success.

Convocation and commencement, serving incoming and outgoing students.

Serve incoming and graduating students at Convocation (welcoming new students) and Commencement (graduation ceremonies).

Special Tours

Lead alumni, community members, special guests, and potential donors through our beautiful campus.

Ring Day and Ceremony

Promote our beloved UT Dallas class rings and facilitate Ring Days and Ceremony in the Fall and Spring.

Foster Community

Host recruitment events throughout the Fall and Spring to promote engagement and community with UT Dallas students through creative and fun activities.

Have Fun

Form bonds with fellow Student Ambassadors through retreats, Boo Bowl hangouts, After-Hours, Big Dupper/Little Dipper program, and socials!

Traditions

Coordinate alumni and annual giving programming alongside enhancing Student Ambassador and UT Dallas traditions on campus to help promote university pride.

Recruitment and Tours

Oversee recruitment process for future Ambassadors and encourage alumni and donor relationships through university tours.

Events & Responsibilities:
Revising and conducting application process, recruitment events, educate Ambassadors on tour and recruitment protocols, leading tours for university guests

Internal and Alumni Affairs

Plan and execute Student Ambassador internal gatherings to build close, family-like relationships and long-lasting bonds within the program.

Events & Responsibilities:
After-Hours, Fall and Winter retreats, Big Dipper/Little Dipper program, Holiday Party, Hello/Goodbye Ceremony, plan socials

Communications

Manages social media presence and maintains the professional image for Student Ambassadors by engaging through education, giving, marketing, and stewardship.

Events & Responsibilities:
Curating media content, capturing pictures, marketing events and campaigns, end-of-semester recap videos
