Bass School 50th Anniversary Celebration

Saturday, October 19

The Bass School is marking the 50th anniversary of its founding through its legacy schools. Bass School alumni as well as all alumni are invited to the campus-wide celebration.

3 – 5 p.m. Edith O’Donnell Arts & Technology Building (ATC), ATC Lobby

  • 3 p.m. Reception and moderated discussion “Looking Back at 50 Years” with Drs. Dennis Kratz & Rainer Schulte. Co-Moderated by UT Dallas Executive Board member Grace Topete and Bass Council member Dr. Alex Topete.
  • 4 p.m. Guided tours of our spaces.

5 – 9 p.m. Erik Jonsson Academic Center (JO)

  • 5 p.m. “Looking Back, Looking Forward: The Future of the Arts at UT Dallas.” Dr. Jonathan Palant, Associate Dean of the Arts, will discuss the history of the arts at UT Dallas and share exciting plans for the future, including Phase 2 of the O’Donnell Athenaeum—the performance hall and music complex. This will be held in Jonsson Conference Room (JO 4.122) near the Dean’s Suite lobby.
  • 5:30 p.m. A reception in the Dean’s Suite lobby (JO 4.60) outside the Dean’s Suite.
  • 7 p.m. Doors open to Jonsson Performance Hall (JO 2.604) for a performance by internationally known pianist Victor Rosenbaum, who performs beloved solo piano works by Mozart, Schubert, Brahms and Chopin, as well as a new work by Dallas-based pianist-composer Lewis Warren Jr.
